A trip along the route of wooden architecture is an opportunity to go back in time to a place where the landscape, culture and everyday life of the ancient inhabitants of the village upon Vistula is recreated. To this day, the culture of Western Cracovians awakens the interest and admiration of tourists from around the world. The trip route leads to the Nadwiślański Ethnographic Park. The 5-hectare open-air museum boasts 25 magnificent wooden monuments surrounded by picturesque barnyards with flower gardens and orchards. The tourists will be offered an opportunity to see churches with belfries, manors, rural craft facilities and a small-town complex with structures dating back to 18th century. Particular attention should be paid to the Museum in Wygiełzów, where Polish regional traditions are presented.

The guide will take the tourists to over hundred-year old rural huts, barnyards, craft enterprises and painstakingly embellished wooden churches dating back from 15th to 19th century. The brilliance and unique nature of this site lies in the naturally preserved neighbourhood. In the western part of the park, which consists of the small-town complex, the tourists will learn about suburban architecture from the 18th and 19th century. The highlights of the trip are: the church in Ryczów (1623) – one of the oldest structures in the open-air museum (with the original equipment preserved inside), and the Manor of Droginia (1730) reconstructed in 2002-2006 (with the interior picturing the typical Polish manor house). The trip itinerary includes also a ride to the charming little village of Lanckorona, only 30 kilometres away from Krakow, full of picturesque colourful residential buildings. Additionally, the tourists will have an opportunity to visit 3 beautiful sacral buildings: St. Andrew’s parochial church in Graboszyce from 15th century, the parochial church in Mętków and the parochial church in Barwałd.
